Firstly, I have to thank Piet for letting me publish his creation “Lego FEI TEM Titan Cube” on my blog. It’s a great pleasure to present this masterpiece.
Piet is an engineer working in FEI Eindhoven (now as a part of Thermofisher Scientific) and a huge fan of Lego. Way before I started making FEI products in Lego, I saw this Lego Titan TEM in our European Nanoport. I was like “wow” for at least ten minutes and really love to take one home. When I started building my TEM, quite a few designs were actually reverse engineered from Piet’s photos ;p
Now here we have the state-of-the-art LEGO FEI TEM Titan Cube from Piet.
For those who don’t know FEI Titan TEM, here is short description and photos from internet.
FEI’s Titan platform is the world’s most powerful, commercially- available suite of scanning / transmission electron microscope solutions for material science, life sciences and electronic industries. The Titans are equipped with revolutionary aberration correctors, monochromator, super-X detectors and many more cutting-edge technologies. Developed with stability and flexibility in mind, Titan’s high performance continuously enables atomic scale discovery and exploration.

Absolutely Awesome!! It looks gorgeous. I was looking to make a LEGO model myself and this is the best model i found so far. Would you care to share the instructions or would you like to keep them a secret 😉

Hi Ram, thanks for commenting. I’m glad you like it. The Titan design was actually from one of my previous colleagues in FEI and he kindly let me publish some of his images. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to his design file. But I guess if you know how to use lego digital designer, it won’t be too hard to work out the dimensions from the image. Good luck!
